PRAIRIE VIEW, TX - The Prairie View A&M Panthers are set to showcase their athletic talents at the upcoming FasTrak Indoor Challenge on February 8, 2025 at the Yeoman Fieldhouse in Houston, Texas. This event, which poses both opportunities and challenges, will feature the formidable Prairie View A&M Panthers taking on various opponents in a range of track and field events.
Led by head coaches
Erik Dixon for the women's team and
Chris Clay for the men's squad, the Panthers are ready to continue their impressive performance, building on their historical successes with multiple top three finishes at the last meet. The Panthers have a diverse set of athletes highlighted for their upcoming competitions. Among the women's team, highlights include
Syriah Burks in pole vault,
Sanai Kintchen in hurdles,
Lea Murphy and
Zara Richardson in distance events,
Savoria Anderson in jumps, and
Keonna Otis in shot put. Notably, Otis recently broke the Prairie View A&M women's record in shot put at the New Mexico Team Open and was recognized as this week's SWAC Field Event Athlete of the Week.
On the men's side, athletes such as
Bryce McFadden and
Christion Derrick will compete in sprints, while
Devin Miller will challenge in high jump,
Darryl Muckelroy in pole vault, and
Shawn Romain in jumps. Each athlete's participation is crucial, hoping to replicate or surpass their past performances and set new personal and school records.
