Prairie View A&M's Track and Field team, under the guidance of head coaches
Erik Dixon and
Chris Clay, is gearing up for their season opener at the McNeese Cowboy Relays in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on March 15, 2025. The Panthers, known for their strong performances, are heading into this crucial meet with high aspirations after impressive results at the SWAC Indoor Championships.
The women's team, coming off a remarkable second-place finish at the indoor championships, is fielding a robust lineup including
Savoria Anderson in the triple jump and
Sanai Kintchen who specializes in hurdles. Their team also boasts strength in the throws with
Krislyn Green,
Michaela Booker, and
Keonna Otis. Distance runners
Zara Richardson and
Lea Murphy, alongside
Morgan Davila in high jump and Madison Muckleroy in pole vault, add depth to the squad.
The men's team is equally poised to make a significant impact, led by sprinters
Bryce McFadden and
Christion Derrick. High jumper
Devin Miller, along with pole vaulters
Darryl Muckelroy and
Damion Phillips, are expected to be essential contributors.
Kaiden Berry will showcase his skills in throws, and NCAA All-American Nathan Crawfrod-Wallis in jumps rounds out this competitive group.
This event marks an exciting transition for the Panthers as it is their first outdoor meet of the season and follows their substantial achievements at the SWAC Indoor Championships. As they compete away in Lake Charles, the team's profile increases, and the Prairie View A&M community is poised for potentially historic performances at the McNeese Cowboy Relays.
