The Prairie View A&M Panthers men's track and field team displayed impressive performances at the recent Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational, both held in Texas. The team competed at the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin and the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, showcasing their talents in a series of running, racing, and field events.
During the second day of the Texas Relays,
Julian Dawkins stood out by winning his heat with a time of 10.74 seconds while the men's 4x400m relay team, comprising
Kellen Morgan,
Christion Derrick,
A'isayah Brown, and
Bryce McFadden, delivered a robust performance with a time of 3:13.21. The Bobcat Invitational also saw notable achievements, with Dawkins setting a personal record of 21.52 seconds in the 200m on the first day.
Sebastian Cruz ran the 800m in 1:54.50,
Caleb Atkinson-Harris finished in 2:01.31, and
Jaiden Johnson set a personal best of 2:01.73.
The field events also highlighted some remarkable efforts, particularly from
Kaiden Berry who threw 44.60 meters in the Section B of the shot put. Berry continued his strong showing on the second day at Bobcat, throwing 15.46 meters. The men's 4x400m relay also competed at the Bobcat Invitational on day 3, running 3:11.03.
The Panthers are poised to build on these successes in their next competition, set for April 4-5 at the Tom Tellez Invitational. With their recent track record, the team is gearing up for another standout performance, as they continue to make their mark in the collegiate track and field landscape.
