STEPHENVILLE, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers struggled on Tuesday, falling to the Tarleton State Texans by final score of 7-2.
Senior C. Massey (7-4) started and took the loss in the circle for Prairie View A&M (23-19). Senior M. Martinez was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going two innings, surrendering one run on one hit.
At the plate, the Panthers were led by senior H. Garza, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a double and a walk. Junior M. Nunez furnished a standout performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-2 with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 5-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Sophomore I. Rodriguez came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M and get them on the board.
The Panthers kept the Texans off the board before narrowing the gap further in the fifth. Prairie View A&M scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Nunez, which brought the score to 5-2 in favor of the Texans. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as Tarleton State added two runs to their tally on the way to a 7-2 final.
