The track and field team are gearing up for a rigorous competition at the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational from April 4-5, 2025, held at the prestigious Carl Lewis International Complex, Tom Tellez Track at the University of Houston.
Under the leadership of head coaches
Erik Dixon for the women's team and
Chris Clay for the men's team, the Panthers are set to challenge themselves in a two-day event packed with both field and running events. The women's squad will be led by standout triple jumper
Savoria Anderson, who is currently ranked 18th in the NCAA West Region and 38th overall in the NCAA. She will be supported by teammates, including
Jasir Miller,
Zara Richardson,
Lea Murphy, and
Keonna Otis. The men's team will feature
Christion Derrick,
Bryce McFadden,
Kaiden Berry,
Darryl Muckelroy,
Devin Miller, and
Sebastian Cruz, all ready to showcase their skills across various events.
The event schedule is robust, starting with field events at 12:30 PM and running events at 2:00 PM on Friday. The competition will continue into Saturday, beginning with field events at 10:30 AM followed by running events at 1:30 PM. This special event, held at a venue named after track and field legends, promises to be a highlight of the collegiate track and field calendar, offering the Panthers a platform to shine against formidable competition.
