The Prairie View A&M Panthers men's track and field team competed in the SWAC Outdoor Championship on May 13, 2025, finishing seventh overall with a commendable total of 61 points. The event was hosted at the A.W. Mumford Stadium at Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA.
The Panthers showcased a strong performance across various events.
Christion Derrick notably finished fourth in the 400m, setting a personal record of 46.00 seconds, positioning him at #36 in the NCAA West region.
Thierry Garcon also impressed with a fourth-place finish in the 5000m with a time of 15:46.97, and a sixth-place in the 10000m, clocking in at 33:27.02. The men's 4x400m relay team, consisting of
Bryce McFadden,
Christion Derrick,
Jabari Stocker, and
Anthony Mangram, finished sixth with a time of 3:11.47.
Kejun Wilson rounded out the running events with an eighth-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase, clocking in a personal record of 10:46.72.
In the field events, the Panthers continued their strong showings.
Damion Phillips excelled with multiple top finishes, securing third place in the pole vault with a 4.42m effort, second in the javelin throwing 52.41m, and third in the decathlon scoring 6258 points.
Kaiden Berry led in the shot put, claiming first place with a throw of 16.34m.
Devin Miller achieved fourth place in the high jump, clearing 2.07m, while
Darryl Muckelroy also shined in the pole vault, finishing second with a 4.57m jump.
Jaden Harris contributed with an eighth-place finish in the triple jump, marking 14.82m.
