Bingmon and McDowell break 100 rushing yards each in Panthers 27-24 victory over Northwestern State

PRAIRIE VIEW, TX - The Prairie View A&M Panthers secured a narrow 27-24 win over Northwestern St. in a riveting football contest on September 20, 2025. The game was marked by fierce competition and dramatic plays, with the Panthers maintaining a slight edge to emerge victorious in front of their home crowd.

Chase Bingmon and Lamagea McDowell each put up over 100 yards on the ground Saturday night to help Prairie View A&M secure a 27-24 win at home against Northwestern State.

The victory improved Prairie View A&M's record to 2-2 on the season while the Demons fell to 1-3.

The Panthers got the big days from Bingmon, who racked up 180 yards, and Lamagea McDowell, who tacked on 104 yards and two touchdowns to lead the rushing attack.

Tevin Carter's most prolific target in the ballgame was Jyzaiah Rockwell, who caught five passes for 84 yards.

Mandel Eugene Jr. showed out for the Prairie View A&M defense, collecting one recovered fumble. Travor Randle added 14 tackles and one interception and Team had in the win.

Prairie View A&M had a big outing on the ground, racking up 346 rushing yards while averaging 7.9 yards per carry and out-rushing Northwestern State by 182 yards.

Defensively, Prairie View A&M held up fairly well against the Northwestern State offensive attack, holding the Demons to 320 total yards.

How It Happened

Prairie View A&M responded to an early 7-0 Northwestern State lead with a first quarter touchdown to narrow the deficit to 7-6.The Panthers then took the lead on a 28-yard field goal from , making the score 9-7.

Northwestern State then grabbed a 10-9 lead, but Prairie View A&M responded at the :35 left mark in the second quarter with a one-yard touchdown run from to jump back in front 17-10.Northwestern State came back to tie the game at 17-17, but the Panthers answered back with a 20-yard field goal from Webb to jump back ahead 20-17.

Prairie View A&M continued to build its advantage, scoring again with 5:21 remaining in the fourth quarter to go on top 27-17. Prairie View A&M didn't score again and Northwestern State added seven more points to finish off the scoring.
