Williams entered Prairie View in 1949 and etched his name in Prairie View history as he was contributor on both the basketball and tennis teams for four years. He helped lead the Panther basketball to the 1950 SWAC Championship and also earned back-to-back tennis championships in 1949 and 1950. Williams obtained a bachelor’s in physical education (biology minor) in 1953 and also graduated with honors as he was in the top five percent of his class. Upon his graduation, Williams was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army and worked his way to 1st Lieutenant before returning to teach physical education at Prairie View College in 1955. Shortly thereafter, Williams was accepted to Meharry Medical College and graduated in 1961 in the top 10 percent of his class. After graduating from Meharry, Williams interned at the County Medical Center in San Diego, Calif. for several years before moving on to private practice at “My Doctor” Medical Clinic in San Diego.
Athletic Honors/Titles: Lettered in Basketball 1949-1953; Basketball Team Captain 1952-53; Lettered in Tennis 1949-1953; 1951 All-P.V. Tournament Honorable Mention; All-SWAC 1951-1952; Member of the 1950 SWAC Basketball Championship Team; Averaged 16.6 points per game.
Academic Honors/Titles: Top 5 percent of the class of 1953; Mardi Gras King; Senior Class President; Houston Club President; Who’s Who Among American College and University Student Leaders (1952); Barron’s of Innovation Social Club.
Outstanding Achievements:   1st Lieutenant, United States Army, San Diego Prairie View Alumni Chapter; Class of 1953 Chapter member; Paradise Hospital (San Diego) Chief of Staff (1979-1980); San Diego Community Hospital Chief of Staff (1980-1982); National Medical Association (NMA) Life Member; member of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce and Black Doctor’s Association; Helix South Tennis Club member; Internal Specialist at UC-San Diego (1980-1982).
