A native of Augusta, Ga., Bostic was a four-year track & field standout under legendary Prairie View A&M head coach Hoover Wright.

Bostic was a standout runner on the PVAMU relay teams as he participated in the mile, 4x200, distance and sprint medley relay teams. As a member of the sprint medley team, Bostic did something at the time that few ever did - which was defeat the legendary Bob “Bullet” Hayes of Florida A&M University during his leg of the event.

In 1964, Bostic set a personal-best time at the SWAC Preliminary Qualifying Meet which set the tone for a solid senior campaign in which he earned NAIA All-American Honors. Bostic teamed with Odell Newsome, Andrew White and Willie Dearion on the mile relay team en route to making history as an All-American.

After his collegiate career came to an end, Bostic became known in the world of track & field as one of the top track officials in the nation.  Active with the Gulf Association USA Track & Field Association, Bostic has volunteered with the National Junior Olympics, TSU Relays, SWAC and the Harris County Street Olympics.
