GAME 1 | North Dakota State 5, Prairie View A&M 3
COMMERCE, Texas --The North Dakota State Bison were too much for Prairie View A&M on this particular day, as the Panthers lost 5-3 on Sunday.
Senior Cailin Massey (2-2) came out of the bullpen for Prairie View A&M (6-6) and took the loss.
At the plate, the Panthers were led by junior Mia Nunez, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a home run, a walk and an RBI. Junior Dyani McKinley put together a standout performance as well, going 2-for-3 with a triple. Junior Breyana Jackson also chipped in for Prairie View A&M, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Prairie View A&M got an RBI single from Jackson, scoring freshman Kearstin Tinsley from second base.
The Panthers lost the lead they built in the first, but got back on the board in the third trailing 2-1. Prairie View A&M picked up a run on Nunez's one-out solo home run off of sophomore Addie Bowers, which evened the score at 2-2.
That 2-2 tie turned into a 3-2 Prairie View A&M lead in the sixth. The Panthers were unable to hold the lead, as North Dakota State scored three times over the remaining one inning to grab the 5-3 win.

COMMERCE, Texas --Though they had plenty of opportunities, Prairie View A&M had a hard time cashing them in, leaving 10 Panthers on base in an 11-3 loss at the hands of the North Dakota State Bison on Sunday.
Senior Madalyne Martinez (0-3) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (6-7) and took the loss.
In the batter's box, the Panthers were led by junior Dyani McKinley, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double. Freshman Chenai Chawayipira put together a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Freshman Kearstin Tinsley also helped out for Prairie View A&M, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers were trailing 3-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Prairie View A&M got on the board thanks to Chawayipira's RBI double with one out.
The Panthers deficit grew to 9-1 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into that deficit in the fifth inning. Prairie View A&M brought home a pair, with one run driven in by sophomore Samantha Guillory's single, which brought the score to 9-3 in favor of the Bison. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as North Dakota State added two runs to their tally on the way to an 11-3 final.
