Men's track and field participated in the Little Rock Invitational in Little Rock, Arkansas, delivering standout performances across various events.
In the short sprints,
Julian Dawkins and
Isaiah Barnes emerged on the track, with Dawkins clocking an impressive 10.69 seconds in the 100m and 21.32 seconds in the 200m. Barnes also shone brightly with a time of 21.03 seconds in the 200m.
Eric Brooks closely followed Dawkins in the 100m, finishing with a time of 10.7 seconds.
Christion Derrick and
Sebastian Cruz also made significant impacts. Derrick secured the third overall spot with a time of 47.38 seconds in the 400m, while Cruz took the same position in the 800m, setting a personal record of 1:50.81 and being among three runners in the event breaking the facility record. Towards the end of the meet, the men's 4x400 relay team to a third-place finish and also being among three teams to break the facility record with a time of 3:11.46.
On the field, Panthers continued to demonstrate their athletic prowess.
Devin Miller was in the top three in the high jump clearing 2.05 meters, while
Darryl Muckelroy posted a pole vault mark of 4.50 meters.
Shawn St. Romain and
Damion Phillips were standout performers in the long jump and the javelin with marks of 7.28 meters and 46.61 meters, respectively, earning them second and third places.
Kaiden Berry also contributed a mark of 45.06 meters in the discus.
Next, the Panthers will prepare for their upcoming appearance at the Fred Duckett Invitational hosted by Rice University in Houston, Texas, on April 26, 2025, continuing their season with high expectations.
