The Prairie View A&M Panthers Track and Field team displayed remarkable performances at the New Mexico Team Open held in Albuquerque on January 31 - February 1, 2025. The two-day event saw Panthers athletes setting personal and school records, highlighting their competitive spirit and athletic skill.
Among the notable performances in the men's category,
Bryce McFadden finished 16th in the 400 B sections with a time of 48.58 seconds, while
Todd Woods secured the 9th spot in the 600m with a time of 1:21.44. In the 200m Invitational, Isaish Barnes crossed the finish line in 21.64 seconds.
Eric Brooks impressed in the 60m unseeded sections clocking 6.95 seconds. The men's 4x400m relay team, consisting of
A'isayah Brown,
Christion Derrick,
Isaiah Barnes, and
Bryce McFadden, achieved a commendable 5th place with a time of 3:14.04, with
Christion Derrick shining in the 400m Invitational, recording a fast 47.86 seconds.
The women's events also saw outstanding achievements, with
Nikiyah Williams running the 400 B sections in 58.21 seconds and finishing 12th.
Treasure Bethea followed closely with a time of 58.99 seconds.
De'Niya Gravely ran the unseeded sections in the 200m with a time of 24.71 seconds and clinched the top time in the unseeded sections of the 60m with 7.64 seconds.
Zara Richardson completed the 800m race in 2:18.05.
In field events,
Syriah Burks reached 8th place in the B sections pole vault, clearing 3.26 meters.
Keonna Otis set a new all-time school record in shot put, both indoor and outdoor, with a remarkable throw of 14.53 meters. In the triple jump finals,
Savoria Anderson secured the 8th position with a distance of 12.17 meters. On the men's side,
Devin Miller achieved 6th place in the high jump at 2.02 meters, and
Darryl Muckelroy placed 7th in the pole vault B sections with a vault of 4.48 meters.
