Women's Track Secure Fourth Place at SWAC Outdoor Championships

The women's track and field team showcased a strong performance at the SWAC Outdoor Championships at A.W. Mumford Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The women's track and field team finished fourth overall, amassing 100.5 points in a competitive field.

In individual achievements, Zara Anderson impressively placed fifth in the 800m race, setting a personal record (PR) of 2:10.42. Lashavia Barclay also notched a PR with a fourth-place finish in the 400m hurdles, clocking in at 1:01.14. The Panthers' 4x400 meter relay team, consisting of Treasure Bethea, Zara Richardson, Nikiyah Williams, and Jasir Miller, captured fifth place with a season's best time of 3:45.73. Christina Fitzpatrick and Kamara Bradley excelled in the 10000m, finishing fifth and eighth respectively, while Lea Murphy and Maya Clark stood out in the 3000m steeplechase.

In the field events, Keonna Otis was a standout performer, earning the title of Most Valuable Field Athlete. Otis triumphed in the discus throw with a 46.74m throw and secured second place in the shot put. Savoria Anderson continued her dominance in the triple jump, winning her fourth consecutive title with a jump of 12.67m. Other notable performances included Sanai Kintchen's second place in the heptathlon and strong showings in the pole vault and shot put. Madison Muckelroy also contributed to the team standings, finishing second in the pole vault and fourth in the high jump.
