The Prairie View A&M Panthers showcased their athletic skill at the SWAC Indoor Championships held on February 22-23, 2025, at the Birmingham Sports Complex in Birmingham, Alabama. The women's team, coached by
Erik Dixon, delivered a stellar performance, securing second place with 101 points, while the men's team, coached by
Chris Clay, also showed strong efforts, finishing seventh with 48 points.
On the women's side, the team demonstrated their prowess across a range of track and field events.
Savoria Anderson was a standout, winning the triple jump with a leap of 12.60 meters and earning the title of Most Outstanding Field Performer.
Zara Richardson also made headlines, setting a personal and new school indoor record in the 800m with a time of 2:10.53, finishing in third. In the 5000m,
Lea Murphy took third in 19:08.98.
Morgan Davila won the high jump, clearing 1.67 meters with
Demaya Malone finishing second in 1.62m. For the relays, the distance medley relay of
Zara Richardson,
Treasure Bethea,
Miracle Price, and
Lea Murphy set a new school record of 12:20.77, taking the podium in third place. For the women's pole vault,
Madison Muckelroy took 2nd with a mark of 3.21m. Lastly,
Michaela Booker and
Sanai Kintchen took huge personal records in the shot put, finishing second and third respectively.
On the men's side,
Damion Phillips and
Darryl Muckelroy were impressive in the pole vault, securing second and third places respectively. The men's 4x400m relay of
Bryce McFadden,
Isaiah Barnes,
A'isayah Brown and
Christion Derrick placed 3rd with a season's best of 3:13.13.
