8/16/2025 1:30:00 PM

Prairie View, Texas – The Prairie View A&M University women's soccer team is set to kick off its home schedule with the first official match of the 2025 season at the PVAMU Soccer Complex on Sunday, August 17, as the Lady Panthers host the University of North Dakota. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. CT.

PVAMU brings back a group of players who gained valuable experience last season, including leading scorers Emily Apodaca and Brooke Bowman, who each finished with two goals each. They'll be joined by returners Jayden Garza, Jayla Roashe, Simone Sheridan, Emely Reyes, Yasemina Harris, Nia Wilson, Kyla Arnes and Adison Malone, all of whom are expected to take on larger roles and contribute to the team's progression this fall.

In total, Prairie View A&M enters the 2025 campaign with 11 returning players and 14 newcomers, creating a competitive and energized roster with a mix of veteran presence and fresh talent. Under the direction of Head Coach Abe Garcia, the Panthers are looking to build chemistry quickly and protect their home field as they begin non-conference play.

PVAMU was ranked 7th in the 2025 SWAC Preseason Poll, a position the team is determined to exceed as the season progresses.

Sunday's game will be live streamed, and live stats will also be available for fans who can't attend in person.
