Season Recap: Men's Indoor Track & Field

The Prairie View A&M men's indoor track and field team delivered a competitive and forward-moving 2025 season, marked by steady growth, breakout individual performances, and strong showings in key event areas. With podium finishes in sprints, pole vault, and relays, the Panthers demonstrated depth and consistency that reflect the program's upward trajectory within the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
 

Regular Season Highlights

  • Isaiah Barnes opened the season with a win in the 200m dash (21.74), setting the tone for PVAMU's sprint crew at the FasTrak Collegiate Challenge.
  • Arrion Knight kicked off his season with a 3rd-place finish in the 60m hurdles, showing early form at the FasTrak Collegiate Challenge.
  • Devin Miller grabbed 2nd in high jump, leading PVAMU's field event effort at the FasTrak Collegiate Challenge.
  • Eric Brooks clocked a season-best and meet-winning 21.72 in the 200m, capturing 1st place at the FastTrak Indoor Challenge.
  • Bryce McFadden joined him on the podium, placing 3rd in the same event (21.92) at the FastTrak Indoor Challenge.
  • In the 60m hurdles, Arrion Knight and Anthony Mangram took 5th and 6th, respectively—both dipping under 8.60 seconds at the at the FastTrak Indoor Challenge.

SWAC Indoor Championships

Going into the championships, six athletes were ranked among the top 8. At the end of the championships, the Panthers earned 7th place overall with 48 team points, led by clutch performances in relays and field events.

  • The 4×400m relay of McFadden, Barnes, Brown, and Derrick placed 3rd (3:13.13), securing vital team points.
  • In the pole vault, Damion Phillips and Darryl Muckelroy finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively—one of the team's strongest scoring events
