The 2025 men's outdoor track and field season at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) showcased a blend of individual excellence and team resilience.
91st Annual PVAMU Relays (March 2025)
The 91st Annual Prairie View A&M Relays, held on March 21, 2025, at the PVAMU Track & Field Stadium, showcased the Panthers' men's track and field team's exceptional performances across various events. The home meet provided an opportunity for the athletes to compete in front of a supportive crowd, highlighting their skills and dedication.
Running Events
- 4x100m Relay: The team of Jalen Smith, Julian Dawkins, Devin Miller, and Eric Brooks secured first place with a time of 40.22 seconds.
- 1500m: Thierry Garcon clinched first place, with a time of 4:01.22
- 400m: Kellen Moran sprinted to victory with a time of 49.13 seconds, closely followed by teammate Sebastian Cruz in third.
- 100m: Julian Dawkins secured second place with a time of 10.65 seconds, while Eric Brooks and Devin Miller finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
- 200m: Dawkins, Christion Derrick, Bryce McFadden, and Devin Miller dominated the top four spots.
- 4x400m Relay: The team of A'Isayah Brown, Kellen Moran, Caleb Adkinson-Harrison, and Bryce McFadden finished first with a time of 3:14.50.
Field Events
- Shot Put: Damion Phillips placed second with a throw of 12.28 meters.
- Discus: Phillips and Kaiden Berry captured first place, demonstrating their strength and technique.
- Javelin: Phillips also placed third in the javelin throw, showcasing his versatility in field events.
- Pole Vault: Darryl Muckelroy achieved first place with a vault of 4.70 meters.
- High Jump: Devin Miller secured first position.
- Triple Jump: Jaden Harris won with a leap of 14.65 meters, showcasing his explosive power and technique.
Senior Recognition
The event also served as a platform to honor senior athletes, including standout performers Christion Derrick, Kaiden Berry, Camdyn Parsee, Jalen Smith, Isaiah Barnes, and Dorian Holland.
Texas Relays (March 27–29, 2025)
The 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays took place in Austin, where PVAMU men's track and field athletes delivered strong performances:

SWAC Championships (May 2025)
The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Outdoor Championships were held from May 11 to May 13 at A.W. Mumford Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Prairie View A&M men's track and field team finished 7th overall with 61 points.
Notable Performances:
- Kaiden Berry claimed 1st in the shot put with a throw of 16.34m.
- Damion Phillips secured 3rd in the decathlon with 6258 points, 2nd in the javelin at 52.41m, and 3rd in the pole vault with a 4.42m clearance.
- Darryl Muckelroy finished 2nd in the pole vault at 4.57m.
- Christion Derrick achieved a personal best of 46.00 seconds in the 400m, placing 4th and ranking 36th in the NCAA West region.
Running Events:
- Thierry Garcon finished 4th in the 5000m with a time of 15:46.97 and 6th in the 10000m at 33:27.02.
- Kejun Wilson set a personal record of 10:46.72 in the 3000m steeplechase, earning 8th place.
Field Events:
- Devin Miller achieved 4th in the high jump with a clearance of 2.07m.
- Jaden Harris placed 8th in the triple jump with a mark of 14.82m.

SWAC Runner of the Week
During the 2025 outdoor season, several Prairie View A&M men's track and field athletes earned SWAC Runner of the Week honors for their exceptional performances:
- Sebastian Cruz: Named SWAC Newcomer of the Week after setting a personal record of 1:50.81 in the 800m at the Little Rock Invitational, finishing 3rd overall and being among the three runners in the race athletes to break the facility record.
- Todd Woods: Earned SWAC Newcomer of the Week honors following a personal best of 48.70 seconds in the 400m at the Fred Duckett Twilight Invitational.
- Devin Miller: Recognized as SWAC Co-Field Athlete and Newcomer of the Week after placing 3rd in the high jump with a mark of 1.98m at the SMU Invitational.
NCAA West Preliminary Round (May 2025)
The 2025 NCAA West Preliminary Round took place from May 28 to May 31 at E.B. Cushing Stadium on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, Texas. Christion Derrick of Prairie View A&M University competed in the men's 400-meter dash.
First Round:
- Time: 46.24 seconds
- Placement: 6th in his heat, 20th overall
- Advancement: Qualified for the quarterfinals
Quarterfinals:
- Time: 46.21 seconds
- Placement: 20th overall
